Abraham is a good friend on the surface. He is extremely bright and expressive, and he is willing to talk to and get to know anyone and everyone. In fact, he goes out of his way to do so. He loves getting to know people, mostly because it gives him more insight into their minds. He views other humans more as research objects than sentient beings most of the time, and it takes a very long time for him to actually form connections. Most of the time, he never forms real connections with his patients. He views them as fragile, and almost lesser – especially while they are sick or if he can’t help them. He is very good at making friends, as he always seems to know what to say to put just about anyone at ease. That being said, he is horribly blunt. He doesn’t care who it hurts, he’s going to tell the truth. Abraham is a man of extremes, lying more in the black and white of life, and rarely ever in the gray.

Alister is a man of few words, and he always has been. It took him years and years to begin speaking in full sentences, and even now he only speaks when he feels that it is necessary. He isn’t very big on making friends, and being in large crowds makes him extremely nervous. Raised as a noble, however, he is very polite and knows how to reciprocate conversation when he is approached. He trusts very few people, and has been through quite a bit in his life. It takes a long time and a lot of persistence to actually get to know him. That being said, he is a very loyal friend and he does his best to take care of the people that he loves. He has a gentle nature, but he is unforgiving once he has been betrayed. He isn’t really interested in romance, but anyone is free to try really.

Armel is the type of person who doesn’t know a stranger. He doesn’t even have to know someone’s name to consider them a friend. He is almost disgustingly extroverted, and he can find enjoyment in just about anyone’s company. Of course, Armel is more into finding lovers than making friends. He flirts with everyone, including his family, and seemingly doesn’t know how to do anything else. Of course, he will back off if someone seems uncomfortable, but he’ll find other ways to get close to them before trying again. All that being said, to those who don’t expect monogamy from him, he is a great lover. Anyone who finds their way into his bed, finds their way into his heart as well. He will forever protect them and provide them with anything they need, even after the relationship has ended.

More a dog than a human, Balthazar isn’t someone you befriend for his pleasant nature. He is calculating and cold, only taking an interest in someone if he feels as though they can further his own agenda. He loves one person, and he will never love anyone else in any sense. The only thing he loves other than Maxine is squashing people beneath his heels. He is exactly what he was made to be, and he is perfect for his master. Other than that, he isn’t good for anyone else. He is approachable and sociable when he needs to be, and on the outside it is almost impossible to tell how much corruption lays just beneath a shiny surface. But it’s there, and he’ll gladly show you as long as you won’t live to tell.

Bastion isn’t an overly friendly or approachable person even in the best of times, never mind as a slave. He has no interest in befriending humans or having anything to do with them. He views them all as soulless monsters, and believes the world would be much better off without them. He is extremely angry and bitter, though he wears a mask of acceptance that most cannot see through. When he does decide to speak, his words are carefully chosen, and usually devoid of any emotions or connections. He is willing to befriend other beasts, as long as they aren’t the kind who seem to like humans for some strange reason. Once befriended, you will find a man with sharp wit and dry humor. Easily jealous and clingy, he doesn’t like the thought of being replaced, and has to be reassured quite often that he won’t be.

A child in years and size only, a simple conversation with Bianca will reveal to anyone that she is extremely mature and wise for her age. While she does enjoy playing and having fun, she is more than willing to do to what needs to be done instead. She is bright and brave, inspiring the loyalty of others quite easily with a kind smile and the promise of a home. She doesn’t really have a lot to do with anyone she would consider to be an adult. Adults have always let her down, and she doesn’t expect them to start taking care of her or her friends any time soon. More than willing to fight, and energetic in about every way, Bianca is a stick of dynamite.

Cassius is a cold and closed off man. He has few redeeming qualities, and of those, he shows even fewer. He is, and always has been, a bully. He wants to get his way in everything, and prove that he is right as well. He doesn’t know how to accept when he is wrong, and he doesn’t know how to give up. These things make for a hardheaded young man who is rather difficult to get along with. He feels closer to his family than anyone else, but it isn’t impossible to befriend him either. It just takes work and a quite a bit of patience. And, of course, he is going through a very difficult time in his life right now. Everything is changing around him, and he doesn’t like it. It makes him even more irritable and prickly.

Charlie is sort of a hot and cold character. She is extremely bright and charismatic, and she seems to have a lot of friends, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Ever since her brother left, she’s stopped feeling close to anyone. She lives in constant terror that they’re going to leave her too, and she just simply can’t allow herself to hurt like that again. She has recently left her hometown to search for him, hoping that she can fix herself by finding him. At the very least, it’ll feel good to punch him right in the face. With her travels, Charlie can basically meet anyone and everyone. She’s willing to stop and lend a hand if need be, and overall she’s pretty sweet as long as she isn’t angry or frustrated.

Christopher is a complicated and often difficult to understand individual. He is prideful to a fault, and tends to have difficulty admitting when he needs help. He rarely ever opens up completely to anyone, much preferring to keep people at arm’s length. He likes to be in charge of all of his relationships and emotions, and when someone gets too close, that control is lost. This isn’t to say that he can’t make good friends – he can, and easily. He simply doesn’t make himself vulnerable to them. Underneath a rough and tumble exterior, Chris is actually a rather fragile individual. It doesn’t take much to shatter him completely, something he is unconsciously aware of – thus keeping people far away and removing that ability from them. In the end, he has his problems, but he isn’t really a bad guy. He’ll go out of his way to help people, and he likes to make people smile… he just has a hard time quite frequently.

To his family and those that he trusts, Conan is an extremely bright and friendly individual. He can wear an easy smile, and he can be rather childish in nature truth be told. He loves a good game, and he loves winning that game even more. He is a man full of easy laughter and he is quite easy to like and befriend. Of course, after his pack was slaughtered and he was separated from his mate and pups, that personality warped a bit. His smiles came less frequently, if at all. There is often a sulky expression to his face now, and he doesn’t really seem to want to open up to anyone. Even the beasts who live alongside him would have a hard time befriending him, though it wouldn’t be impossible. He is lonely, after all. Wolves aren’t meant to be alone.

Bright smiles and bright hair easily set Desmond apart from the crowd. He seems to know just what to say to just about anyone, as long as they aren’t doing something stupid like crying or trying to get too attached to him. His lifestyle doesn’t really permit deep or lasting relationships – not that he really wants them anyway. He is a rolling stone, never staying in one place for too very long. Most of his relationships tend to be the result of business deals. There is nothing Desmond loves more than making a quick buck – by any means necessary. While it wouldn’t be impossible to befriend him, it might not be the smartest thing? He’s a little monster, really.

Diamond is a young hybrid with a somewhat simple past, but a complicated personality. Due to the way she was picked on when she was younger, it is difficult for her to make friends. She doesn’t believe that anyone has her best interests at heart, and she would much rather just not be friends with anyone at all. It’s easier that way. If she doesn’t care about anyone, she doesn’t care about their opinions either. Only one person in recent memory has managed to befriend her, and he’s all she needs as far as she is concerned. Her entire world more or less revolves around him, and the vast majority of her decisions begin and end with him. Anyone who poses a threat to their relationship in her eyes is disregarded immediately, and more often than not she can simply be seen shadowing behind him. She rarely speaks to anyone other than him, and she never approaches anyone. Befriending her would be hard, but if one managed to, they would have a friend for life. A jealous friend. But a friend.

Evelyn is rather easy to get along with, really. Nothing seems to ruffle her feathers or upset her in any way. Most of the time, she simply shrugs and moves on with her life. The only thing that will really upset her is messing with her family, and there’s really not a lot of reason to do that. Her brother is sweet as can be, her “brother-in-law” never does anything, and her best friend/lover is just the cutest little thing. She is very protective of them, and will do anything in her power to make sure that nothing happens to them. She has already lost her youngest sister to humans, and she doesn’t plan to repeat that mistake. A wall of cool politeness seems to surround her, and it can be rather hard to break through – though certainly not impossible. Someone with similar interests, or just something interesting to say can keep her around for a while. She isn’t one for meaningless small talk or interactions, but she isn’t rude or standoffish either. Befriending her will take time, but that’s about it. Stick around, and she’ll love you eventually.

Extroverted to a fault, Grayson would talk to the trees if they could talk back. He seems to adore any and all social contact, and never seems to be happier than when he is surrounded by a large number of people. He is very easy to like, and he’s always up for an adventure or anything that gets his heart-racing and his adrenaline up. He doesn’t seem to be afraid of much, in fact, the only thing that really scares him is emotion. While he adores having a large social circle, he doesn’t readily enjoy the attachment that seems to come with it. He likes people for as long as they are fun, and as soon as that’s over, he’s out. He doesn’t really care about much of anyone, and he never will. Seeing your mother slaughtered as a pup tends to do that to you, apparently.

Ian is… in short, awkward. He was raised in a lab, and therefore was never able to develop adequate social skills. He is rather aware of his shortcomings as far as this goes, and tries to avoid contact if he can. Social interactions are more draining than they’re worth, so making new friends isn’t really high on his to-do list. He already has plenty of people in his life, as far as he’s concerned, and anyone else would just be strenuous. Despite his awkward nature, Ian wouldn’t really be a bad friend. He is full of all kinds of interesting knowledge, and is kind and loyal as well. It’s just hard to find all of that under his thick layer of awkward, “Don’t talk to me because I don’t know how to talk to you”-ness.

Isabelle is a girl who tends to have difficulties with making friends. She is very shy, and she never approaches anyone first. When approached, due to her shy nature, she often seems cold and aloof – mostly because she doesn’t know what to say. The only thing she’s really passionate about is learning, and those who are easily bored by ramblings of magical theorems and the like aren’t going to get along with her very well. She is easily insulted by those who don’t take what she considered to be important seriously, and she can be very bossy and overbearing as well. A lot of this, however, is meant in a good way. She just wants to see everyone doing their best, is all. And once you do find a friend in her, you’ll find a very loyal and sweet girl. She loves to take care of people, from cooking for them to fighting for them if necessary.

Isidor was, at one time, a very friendly and sociable man. However, fifty years of heartache and loneliness have left him rather weary to forming new relationships – especially relationships with humans or short-lived beasts. He will be alive for centuries to come, and he has no desire to experience the heart wrenching ache that comes along with losing someone he cares about. That being said, he can call upon his old nature when he needs to. At times Juliette uses him to gather information, and he is more than happy to help her out in the regard. When he is approached, he will respond favorably enough, and becoming his friends isn’t impossible, it just takes time and effort. He has a rather warped view of friendship, however, and he is quite manipulative. He has to be in charge in all of his relationships, excluding those with the humans who own him.

Environmental factors warped Jamie into what he is today before he ever really had a chance. He doesn’t make friends or form bonds easily, and he sees himself as above everyone else. His family used to be highly regarded nobles before their magical blood died out, but now that he’s realized that he has magical abilities, he believes that when he can get his family home back he can lead his family back to greatness. The truth of the matter is that he’ll never be more than an orphan in a gang, but Jamie refuses to believe this. He doesn’t really mind socializing, and is quite good at it, but his smiles are only skin deep. Thus far, his only real friend is Mason, and it might stay that way.

Despite the fact that she can be rather uppity and full of herself at times, Juliette is easy enough to make friends with. She loves having connections, and while she prefers the company of her fellow nobles, she recognizes that useful people come from lower classes as well. Honestly, with a bit of persistence, anyone can befriend Juliette. She comes off as warm and sweet, and honestly a little ditzy, but that is far from the truth. She knows how to get what she wants and is highly manipulative. She will do anything to keep her family in the social standing that they currently possess, and I mean anything. She will not allow anything to be taken from her children if she believes it is rightfully theirs, and she’ll squash anyone like a bug if they have something negative to say about her family.

Lennox is, in short, violent and unstable. Captured by the humans and forced into a fighting ring, his once stable mind was warped beyond recognition. He eventually escaped, but not without damaging himself even more in the process. He went on to form a flock for griffins and phoenixes escaping from similar situations, and makes his money as an assassin. He doesn’t really make friends outside of his flock or species, preferring the company of other birds to anything else. He despises humans, and while he will work for them if they’re paying enough, he’ll never befriend or trust them. In the end, his only close relationships will be those that spawn from his flock members.

Born the middle child of a noble family, Lionel never really got a lot of attention. He didn’t mind, though. His brother was, and continues to be, the only person he needs. That being said, Lionel isn’t against making friends. He doesn’t leave his house very often, but when he does he is rather easy to approach and talk to. He’s friendly for the most part, and warm and receptive to most social situations. He likes getting to know people, and he does like talking quite a bit for whatever reason. He has always been good at making friends and flattering where need be, even if these relationships tend to be a little superficial. He absolutely adores children, and will often buy food and blankets for the orphan children where he lives. It wouldn’t be surprising at all, either, if he were to adopt one or ten of these children someday.

Liora is almost impossible to get close to, really. She has lost interest in forming social bonds over her years spent alone, and she thinks it’s better that way. She has grown horribly cold and judgmental over the years, not pausing to consider all of the factors that go into people’s decisions, but judging them based on their actions alone. This makes her unwilling to form a bond with them, and more or less ensures that she’ll be alone forever. Basically, Liora would rather be alone due to her own choosing rather than having to try and fail as she has in the past. If one were to manage to weasel their way into her heart, they would find a warm and playful girl waiting just below the surface – full of smiles and advice and love.

The first thing that is usually noticed about Lucian is the fact that he exudes confidence. He tends to think that he is right in every situation, and never questions or doubts himself. He is confident in his abilities and his looks, and he can be rather off-putting in this way. Because his confidence usually bleeds through to unbelievable cockiness. All of that being said, Lucian is a rather easy person to get along with otherwise. He is extremely calm and very rarely will he get angry or even annoyed at anything. He knows how to flatter and what to say, especially considering that he will be the Duke of the East someday. He doesn’t really form deep bonds with anyone, as losing his mother as a child removed that ability from him, but as far as he’s concerned that doesn’t matter. He doesn’t need “real” friends, he needs allies. It’s not impossible to become his friend, just difficult. Oh, and if you wanna see him lose his mind just threaten Carmen or Rose.

It can be rather hard to befriend Naomi, truth be told. She can be very loud and in your face about things. Not only that, but she refuses to admit that she’s wrong even when she is. She views a lot of things as attacks even when they aren’t, and half the time she won’t accept apologies when they are given. She is very stubborn, and she refuses to change. She is rough around the edges, and she doesn’t mind keeping people at an arm’s length. Besides all that, she doesn’t really make “friends” anyway. Most of her interactions culminate in flirting, and then going beyond that if the person is willing. It takes a very special person to get her to stick around long enough to get to know her, and while it’s difficult, it certainly isn’t impossible.

Nico is young and otherwise untainted by the world around him as of yet. Despite the fact that he has already lost his father, he remains positive and bright. He adores making friends with anyone, though he does prefer kids around his own age. He has several different names that he uses, depending on who he is trying to befriend. ‘D’ makes friends with the local children, ‘Nico’ makes friends with noble children, and ‘Nicodemus’ makes friends with noble adults. His favorite name, of course, is ‘D’. The local children are more fun than noble children, and he is always getting into trouble with them. He still has an innocent and naïve view of the world, and all in all, he’s a great kid.

Rodney can be a difficult character to get a grasp on. He wants to make friends and be social, he wants that more than anything, but he has a hard time with it. An experiment warped his mind long ago, and he goes from being stable and friendly to being unstable and paranoid within the blink of an eye. He knows that he is dangerous, and he knows he’s only getting more dangerous as time passes on. It is extremely distressing for him, and as of late, he’s taken to more or less sequestering himself away. All he ever ends up doing is hurting people, and he can barely walk down the street without having a meltdown. He clings to his childhood friend, Tristan, who is the only person who can get through to him. Befriending him is dangerous, difficult, and requires the ability to forgive – but Rodney’s own desperation for friendship ensures that he’ll allow anyone to so if they’re patient enough.

Scarlet is an extremely sweet girl. Despite everything that she’s been through in her life, she still finds herself willing to befriend and get close to others. She wants to protect them, and she wants to be there for them. She doesn’t even really hate humans, even though they’ve done nothing but hurt her. There is one human that she does hate, but she doesn’t hate them as a species yet. She wants to make friends with everyone, and she wants to be liked. All of that being said, Scarlet is extremely shy, timid, and awkward. Usually it takes an extrovert to break her out of her shell so she can form the bonds that she wants to.

In short, Shakir doesn’t want to talk to you. While he is highly capable of making friends when he takes the notion to, he doesn’t often take the notion to now-a-days. He can’t even speak Aeternish, which puts up a barrier on potential friendships anyway. He hates being in this country, and he would leave if not for the fact that he needs to find his siblings before he can. He is starting to pick up a few words of the native tongue, but not enough to adequately communicate. He’s rather depressed because he had to leave his daughter back in his home country, and he honestly just wants to be left alone. He has managed to get close to a weretiger that he found on his journey, and that is enough for him. So, basically, unless you have some information about Sagira and Sudi (that you can communicate), leave him the hell alone.

Sterling is an old hermit, plain and simple. He rarely ever leaves his home, and when he does it’s for business reasons only. He has gone through too much in his life, and he doesn’t want to be around people anymore. They are exhausting, fake, and they’ll just fuck him over in the end anyway. Whether it be through dying, or something more deliberate, they’ll manage it somehow. He figures it’s better this way, and there isn’t much that’s going to change his mind. Inside, though, Sterling is a good person. He won’t stand by quietly and watch anyone get hurt, and he does his best to use his position to better the lives of other people. Quiet and lonely he may be, but he’s not really cruel. He’s just a victim of circumstance.

Yulia can be difficult to befriend even in the best of times, and these certainly aren’t the best of times. She is rough around the edges, and would just as soon fight you as she would say hello to you. Even with people that she likes, she is terribly blunt and rough. She likes to play fight and sees sparring as a way of bonding. She isn’t really interested in forming new relationships, however, she will be joining the rebels sooner or later… so she’ll likely find a few friends there. In the end, Yulie has to consider you a packmate before she’ll consider you a friend, but this isn’t impossible at all. She’s rough, rude, and hard to get along with, but she isn’t mean. She’s just… herself.
